Evangelo's Restaurant: The pizza of your dreams

Evangelo’s may not wow you from the outside. It may not even take your breath away on the inside. The airy passageway does offer a hint of an Italian villa, but that might be the only thing that does. The dining room, however, feels more like an old railway car, though the large fireplace in the corner offers warmth and charm.

Luckily, the décor is not why people come to Evangelo’s. It’s for an incredible “taste of the Mediterranean” and the friendly servers that deliver it. Combined, they entice locals to return often and tourists to make it a stop every time they pull into town.

The menu is inspiring – and you may find it tough to make a decision. Indeed, you may want to order one course at a time or share amongst the table. For starters, you may want to try the Fried Ravioli; it’s hot and lightly crispy with a lovely, creamy filling.

You can, of course, branch out to steaks or halibut when you return to Evangelo’s for your second visit, but you don’t want to miss their pizzas. Reviewers know the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza is a head-turner. And, the Spring Fresco will delight vegetarian lovers with artichoke hearts, basil, spinach, red onions, and roasted red peppers. With a tempting selection of salads and soups, you might have a difficult time saving room for dessert.

And if you live close enough, you can cure your pizza craving with delivery of your favorite piping hot pie. The kitchen can also prepare carry out of their other meals if you want to enjoy delicious Italian at home. Unsurprisingly, this restaurant that attempts to pull out all the stops also handles banqueting and corporate events for as many as 250 people.
